Patient Dies During CT Scan, Relatives Attacked Doctors | Four doctors were assaulted by the relatives of a deceased patient at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in Nagpur on Monday. The incident took place in the Ward No 86 Radiology department around 12 noon.

A patient was brought to the GMC in critical condition due to abdominal pain. However, the patient’s health suddenly deteriorated while undergoing a CT scan. The patient died while being admitted to the intensive care unit.
The patient’s relatives alleged that the patient’s death was caused by the doctor’s negligence and started beating the doctor. Security guards present at the scene intervened and caught the patient’s relatives. The Ajni police have arrested the relatives and registered an FIR against them.
The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) has condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the perpetrators. MARD President Dr. Sajal Bansal said that the issue of the safety of doctors working in the GMC has become serious. He has demanded that proper security should be deployed in the GMC for the safety of the doctors.
