PGI Director Prof. Vivek Lal has approved patient care allowance to Group A and B employees. After this order, there is a lot of happiness among the employees as the employees of the institute were struggling for a long time to meet this demand.
Ashwani Kumar Munjal, general secretary of PGI Employees Union Non-Faculty, said that the employees were protesting peacefully since September 2022 regarding this demand. 40 employees were also arrested by the police on 16th November.PGI Director Prof. Vivek Lal had agreed after a long talk with the union. In the meeting held on December 9, accepting the demand of the union, it was promised to issue orders soon. PGI Employees Union has thanked to Director Prof. Vivek Lal, DDA Kumar Gaurav, and Financial Advisor Kumar Abhay for accepting the demand.

Sanction is hereby accorded for payment of Hospital Patient Care Allowance/Patient Care Allowance to Group A & B (Ministerial, Engineering staff etc.) presently working in this Institute as per cell R 1 H3 of the Risk and Hardship Matrix @ Rs. 4,100/- per month for Level 8 and below and Rs. 5,300/- per month for Level 9 and above under 71″ Central Pay Commission, in view of the Serial No. (iv) of note of the Under Secretary to Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure dated 23.06.2021 and on the analogy of AIIMS, New Delhi subject to the condition that in case there is any contrary decision received from the Govt. of India, MoH&FW or from the Hon’ ble Central Administrative Tribunal, Chandigarh Bench, Chandigarh in pending cases, as the case may be, declaring them ineligible for HPCA/PCA, in that case recovery will be made from the existing employees/future pensioners/resignee.
The effective date of provisional payment of HPCA/PCA will be from the month of December, 2022 and the payment of HPCA/PCA to these categories of employees will be subject to submission of undertaking (attached) by the concerned employees directly to the concerned establishments.
